How the Rockettes Prepare for the Christmas Spectacular by The Rockettes

Founded in 1925 in St. Louis, Missouri, since 1932, they have performed at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan, New York City.

St. Louis is an independent city in the U.S. state of Missouri, built along the western bank of the Mississippi River, on the border with Illinois.

Manhattan is the most densely populated borough of New York City, its economic and administrative center, and the city's historical birthplace.

The City of New York, often called New York City, New York, or simply The City, is the most populous city in the United States.

During the Christmas season, the Rockettes present five shows a day, seven days a week.

Perhaps their best-known routine is an eye-high leg kick in perfect unison in a chorus line, which they include at the end of every performance.

Their style of dance is a mixture of modern dance and classic ballet.

Auditions to become a Rockette are held in April in New York City.

Women who audition must show proficiency in several genres of dancing, mainly ballet, tap, modern, and jazz.

Normally, 400 to 500 women audition yearly.
