In Scouting, a jamboree is a large gathering of Scouts who rally at a national or international level.

Scouting or the Scout Movement is a movement that aims to support young people in their physical, mental and spiritual development, that they may play constructive roles in society, with a strong focus on the outdoors and survival skills.

The 1st World Scout Jamboree was held in 1920, and was hosted by the United Kingdom.

The World Scout Jamboree is a Scouting jamboree of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, typically attended by several tens of thousands of Scouts from around the world, aged 14 to 17.

The 1st World Scout Jamboree was held from 30 July 1920 to 8 August 1920 and was hosted by the United Kingdom at Kensington Olympia in London.

24th World Scout Jamboree - North America 2019 by World Scouting


Since then, there have been twenty three World Scout Jamborees, hosted in various countries, generally every four years.


The 24th World Jamboree is to be held in North America in 2019.


There are also national and continental jamborees held around the world with varying frequency.


Many of these events will invite and attract Scouts from overseas.
